4 Winds Lakeland Tipis currently operates from Low Wray National Trust Campsite in the beautiful English Lake District. The site was chosen for the views, woodland areas, natural environment and basic and functional facilities. We have brought Native American style into the heart of the Lakes.
Sorry but we don't accept dogs or any pets in our Tipis.
4 Winds Lakeland Tipis have designated areas on the National Trust Low Wray Campsite, close to Ambleside and to the North of Lake Windermere. Within view of the historic and magnificent Low Wray Castle.
Watch the sun rise over England's largest lake and enjoy the magnificent views across the water to Wansfell Pike and The Fairfield Horseshoe. Situated on the western shore of Windermere, Low Wray is the perfect base for a whole range of outdoor activities. There are opportunities for gentle walks and great off-road biking from the campsite. The quiet country lanes will also prove attractive to cycle tourers. Low Wray is an ideal base for lovers of watersports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching. Please note however that there is no access for powered craft.
The Tipis are situated within the main campsite but have a designated area next to the river that flows into the Lake. To protect the natural beauty of the sites, parking is available in designated areas away from Tipi pitches.
Reception and Shop:
The new shop and reception at Low Wray now offers a much wider range of groceries including local meats and bakery products, camping equipment toys and fancy goods.
